We Might Be Misunderstanding Self Compassion.
I think we're too hard on this part of ourselves we're so quick to call the "Inner Critic", without considering what this critic is really saying or where it's coming from.
Sometimes self compassion looks like taking accountability and doing the hard thing for your own wellbeing.
Sometimes self compassion looks like realizing how you've neglected your quality of life, owning it, and doing the thing that will improve it. Even when that thing is scary or difficult to do. Even when it requires you to get disciplined. Get tough. Step out of your soft girl season for a moment and do some hard work that will land you in an even softer space in the end.
Sometimes self compassion looks like taking accountability and responsibility for your life and circumstance.
Taking this accountability isn't the same thing as taking on shame, and this is where we get confused.
